Adam L. Gruen, Ph.D., is an historian of technology with 14 years experience managing and directing projects in government, military, academia, and the corporate world. At NASA he was Project Director for the Space Station History Project. At George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia he taught U.S. history. He was principal investigator on a study of V-1 and V-2 systems for the U.S. Air Force and is the author of Preemptive Defense: Allied Air Power Versus Hitler's V-Weapons, 1943-1945.

As Corporate Historian for MCI WorldCom, Gruen provided internal research, analysis, and writing for the Corporate Office, Tax/Legal, Marketing, Chief Engineer, Public and Investor Relations, and Knowledge Management departments.

He also created and maintained an internal MCI History Web Site, researched and wrote scripts for an internal MCI cable channel, and created and maintained the 1997 MCI/NSF/HAI/Microsoft "Documenting the Digital Age" conference web site.

Adam is also in his 3rd year as the Host/Organizer of the History conference in Howard Rheingold's Brainstorms.
