Teri M. Myers has ten years experience in online communication, and has been working in the field of online community building for more than five years. Her experience includes chat, conference/message boards, list management, and development of several community-enabling technologies and systems.
She has built and managed large (over 2000 member) host teams and managed multiple teams simultaneously. She has planned chat systems from the ground up as well as redesigned existing systems capable of handling hundreds of thousands of simultaneous users. Teri has developed kids safety programs and worked with Kids Only OnLine (KOOL) on America Online to create a safe, appropriate environment for children.
Teri is expert in online hosting issues, including volunteer vs. employee issues, planning, recruiting, training and managing remote teams of hosts and content development teams. She is an expert in change management, conflict resolution, problem solving and member experience issues. She has worked in chat and message board environments and has provided teams for tech support, teaching and training, children's programs, customer service, and online promotions and marketing. Teri has developed her own training programs for all types of hosting, for tech support and member services, classes for community members from basic beginners to advanced and tutorials and technical training for tools - all online.
Teri has worked with interdisciplinary teams to integrate site development, marketing, user experience, and community management. She also has experience quantifying community and developing usage tracking and analysis systems.
