(More than) midway in life's journey, I started messing w/ cardboard

Just getting started on cardboard skills with box cutter, scissors, and glue gun. First up, a marble maze that I will use with almost five year old grandson. Modeling scientific method and metacognition (more on that in a future post), first I ask him what he thinks will happen (hypothesis), to describe what happened (observation), and what force was making it work. Then will introduce some friction by tacking felt and sandpaper and timing the runs. What do you think will happen? Why? Were you surprised?

The maze took hours. I'll work faster as I learn the way of cardboard. Making the frame for a marble run was quicker. Grandson and I will make the run -- think pachinko -- with hot glue (important for kids to do dangerous things carefully) and large craft sticks.
