Oh boy. Remember the backpanel I made for our artcar, Huracan? It's been some years since I actually rode in it, and I guess I was blessed by St. Stupid that day, because...I painted it upside down! Probably 20 hours work. So I mounted it in my backyard, cut out an identically sized and shaped piece of 3/4 inch plywood, sanded and gessoed it, and painted an entirely new one. Another 30 hours. I didn't really plan it very much. I just drew out some figures and started painting. When faced with decisions -- how to paint the saucer and the spaceship, who to pilot them, who in the passenger windows -- I just made impulsive decisions. It looks like some kind of story. Are the saucer and the spaceship related? They have similar designs painted on them and they both have the 'Pataphysical Studios insignia. Are they 'pataphysicians? Are they communicating with each other? The sparks from their antennae are different colors. Does that mean different frequencies? I didn't think a still photo did justice, so I made this very brief video. Forgive the background noise. BTW -- the person in the door of Huracan in the still is Mountain Girl.
