Manifesting a piece of art, from sketch to object (2)

The universe just jumped in there, the way the hearts and skulls did -- as it is wont to do. There is something called a quantum vacuum fluctuation. According to the equations of quantum mechanics, it is possible for a particle and anti-particle to spontaneously manifest from nothing, as long as they mutually cancel each other and disappear within a very small interval. In the 1970s, I read an article on "Is the universe a vacuum fluctuation?" that proposed that the Big Bang could have been a quantum vacuum fluctuation that went awry. I remember the concluding sentence: "In other words, the universe is one of those things that happen from time to time."
