Deluxe DIY Busybox
I made a busybox for Kas. It's a foot square; poplar with walnut splines. The black side is covered with two coats of blackboard paint. The other side is covered with three coats of magnetic paint.

Inside is a small painting of mine attached via velcro so it can be taken out and swapped, hand-painted wooden gears and zipper coat, a plastic nut and bolt, push button that ejects a cylinder, a rolly wheel, a spinner, a lock and key, a door with a latch, an electronic box with buttons, rocker switches, LED lights, chalk. The box with the picture of the tiger contains small pix I cut out, mod-podged on thin cardboard, and glued a light small magnet to the back. The box with his name on it contains painted wooden letters spelling out his name.
Open the latch and door and see the blue sky and the a galaxy:

Kas is obsessed with the Beatles, so for his second birthday, Mamie photoshopped his face onto a pic. Here are a few of the magnetic objects. I figure he will decide what else to magnetize.
