The possibility of a garden is a big part of why I knew this was the place as soon as we saw it in Spring, 1986. The previous owner kept two large dogs in the back yard, which was impacted dirt. All along the perimeter were blackberry vines. To really remove blackberries, you need a wrecking bar to get three or four feet down to the mother root. I had a deep experience of mortality when I realized that, barring a direct nuclear hit, in a century I won't be here, but the blackberry will be back.

I posted a few pics of the garden in May. This is what happens in two months on this wondrous planet, just far enough from a star of just the right size, with liquid water and breathable atmosphere. Apricots falling from trees still astonish me.

BTW, the collaged cubical container to the right of the apple tree in the thumbnail is the cover of my table saw, which the Pataphysicists embellished.
