If you have trouble remembering what the surface of your desk looks like under all that stuff, the DECLUTTR mailing list is for you. This is a support group for overcoming a common problem; cluttering or packratism. Although at times the tone can be preachy, for the most part these are people who care about each other and offer support in the search for the bottom of the many piles of junk that have seized control of their lives. Progress is encouraged; setbacks are greeted with further support and suggestions. Meetings between Declutterers are encouraged, as well as the formation of local groups. Now, if they could only start a group to deal with a cluttered email inbox . . . - D.L.
