This ambitious commercial site promises to match you with information, music, movies, and people based upon your personal preferences. The music and movie preference engine works fairly well, but the jury is still out on matching up people. Nonetheless, this site boasts active chat rooms ("The Buzz") and well-designed conferences (called "venues"). As in all chat rooms, the quality of discourse in The Buzz varies widely. However many of the user-created Venues are well-designed, well-focused, and interesting. Watch this sight over the next few months; it has the potential to be a winner! While there seems to be a well-developed community of teens on firefly, digging into the Venues reveals a more mature community as well. - D.L.
