Panama hat, Hawaiian shirt, 2010

In 2010 I got the idea of turning my painting of a Balinese Garuda into a shirt, so I uploaded a .jpg to Spoonflower and commissioned Molly Ditmore to make a shirt. I have a weakness for Panama hats (which are really made in Ecuador). This one is 1600 weaves per inch. I keep it in a hatbox most of the time. We got the hatband in Telluride in the 1990s.
